Based on experience, I don't really have much trouble clearing anything and its fairly safe to run fishy (skellies + amp on mobs, revived blunderbores + decrep on bosses) I have a level 62 fishy in D2R (first toon) and am planning on respecting to poison/summon (even though I still lack the gears for it). I suggest fishy to start, swap to poison midgame, then decide from there whether to spec full summon, poison, or hybrid.
